Not to sure about this

Decided to give an update on my lack of love life. So, there is this woman. I don't seem to like her or her kid. I realy don't like her kid. She doesn't realize that she gets into situations with other parents and they laugh at how ill behaved her kid is. To be honest I don't want to get into it. He seems to misbehave so he can get rewards for not being bad.... It's a terable system.
I'd be a terrable parent, I've said it many times. Have you ever seen "The great santini"? Kind of like that.... Damn, you probably havn't. Oh!!! have I mentioned how bad her ADD is. She doesn't even know what focus is. She flitters like a butterfly from one thing to another. She has been in like 12 trafic accidents. I was over there a few days ago, and the idea that we leave the TV off was unimaginable...... Maybe tonights movie will be the great santini.... Ok, I hope I can sleep.

Have I mentioned that it's hot.....

Fabian Cancellara in stage 3 today, pulled off an unbelievable finish. after defending his yellow jersey at the finish, he realized that he had a chance to ride to victory in the stage, and did.
I've been swearing I'd get my bike tweaked for weeks now. Finaly I did that today. it's not quite tweaked but it's running. and I put in my usual 7 mile loop, and at my big hill, I almost had a heart attack... or it was the heat. Wild how hard my heart works when riding the bike.... I need to do more of that....

Some stuff

For those of you unaware, I'm a tennis fan too. I'm afforded the opportunity to watch all the tennis I want, live. This year I've redone my allegiances, and decided to chose the top woman and top man. Ya, it's kind of chickenshit. But I'm a fan of finesse games, and not the big server base line games. To be honest I've been a fan of henin for years. Her new focus and dedication to her fitness have me thinking she is something exceptional. Assuming she can recover from her loss in the semi-finals at Wimbledon..to some no name french girl. Not to belittle the accomplishment of the aforementioned french girl, but she is going nowhere. Due to some abnormal loyalty to her coach, she may have a little hindrance there. She may need a staffing change.
The day she lost, Andy Roddick lost as well... I'm not sure what to say about Andy. He may need a coaching change as well. He has improved over the past year but I'm just not sure it's enough.

Unknown to some is that today was day 2 of "Le Tour" actually it was day 3 but stage 2. Stage One Robbie Mcewen pulled off a masterful win after falling out of the pack with a mechanical failure, then coming back in in the last 5k to move up to the front and pull off the win. It will not be his last...... BTW his team sponsor is a pregnancy test

2 days 4 lakes 3 hikes 1 dog..... Huh?!!!??

On friday evening I made a call and invited somone to go on a quick hike with me. It's a fast hour up and 20 minutes back down hike, to this little lake. I got turned down for the friday, but they were super psyched to go on saturday. Anyways I went out alone, riged up my running shoes and shorts, and light hydration pack with a quart of water. When I got to the trail head I realized I could extend it about 2 more miles by taking the long route and adding a couple of additional lakes to the hike and I set off. I did a great pace, ran about half of it. I'm realy close to the summit of the hike, and I run across some people who are in border melt down mode(AKA ready to quit). They ask me, like little kids "are we there yet?". These people were ready to turn around 150 yards from their destination. I gave them the proper motivation, and sent them on their way. It was a good fast hike, lot's of fun, and a great workout.

Saturday happens, Stupidly they didn't want to get up early, Let me tell Y'All something about the weather here when it's this hot. If you can get up pre dawn and get on the road as dawn breaks, it's unbelevable. It's the coolest time, the weateher is in the 70's and 80's and it's just perfect. To be honest that is the best time of the year to be outdoors here, but.... people are tired, they have a hard time letting go of the impulse to suffer a little by getting up earlier. Then the trade off is, they suffer A lot, when they go out in the heat of a 10am-1pm hike, but did get that extra hour or two of sleep.... Well that's what we did. What also get's charming with "You People"(this may not include you). Then is when your 20 minutes from the summit and you start making excuses, "I don't feel well", "It's hot", bla bla bla... You know, your excuses are your own. I'm never sure how aware people are of their self defeating attitudes.... So, there we are nasty part of the hike is over and it's "oh, I need to get home by noon. I have to meet somone." Internaly I'm saying to myself "so, show up at 9, hike 2 hours then go home. this is all the time we had today? you said nothing about that when we left." so we quit, and start going down. BTW once we got down, there was no hurry to tell this person who was "Waiting for them" that they were going to be late, and no rush to get back.

On the way down, we come across a couple and their kids, one of the kids is totaly dragging, and starting to whine.
"This is steep, I'm tired..". Dad gives him a pat on the back and gets the young boy going again. This is a charming trate that this person has that I'm with, they have an ability to demoralize everyone they come across. Sure enough, they pipe up to this 7 year old kid,
"Well, it only get's steeper.".... I totaly come unglued, almost pushing my hiking partner down the hill and start going at them.
"Are you kidding me!!!!" I reply, " That father is doing everything he can to keep the moral of those kids together, to get them up a hill, the very one that you whined and cried even worst than that kid was doing. And you tell the kid that it's going to get worse. That guy is going to get that kid another 50yards and the kid is going to quit. All Thanks to you. It would be awefully tough for you to get up this mountain if I spent my time telling you how bad it was going to be. If I ever have you make a comment like that to another person, you will be hiking alone." BTW all of this is going on within earshot of that family. Course being alpha dog you have to keep the rest of the pack in line, and even nip at them every once in a while...... Next hike with this person, we will be working on developing some decending social skills.
I go home, drink another quart of water as I try and get myself into the shower. The hike was mellow enough that I just had a nice salad for lunch. I fell dead asleep....
Flash forward 30 minutes, my phone rings..... I ignore it, then it rings again, this time I pick it up. Same person from the earlier hike, her sister is stuck with a lame dog up the bowman trail... I compleatly tried to beg out, Then I realize how skrewed they were, and I rigged up and got back out there. Long story short, I pulled a 90lb dog out of the canyon. Making that the 3rd hike in 24 hours, probably over 10 miles.

Keep the Geek Squad away from my porn

.... this article is about how the Best Buy "Geek Squad", is about how the geek squad guys institutionally take consumer's private video, and picture files from their computers then put it on their own systems for further dissemination to the other employees.
.... What is strange to me, is that, my media collection is second to none, I've never seen a person with as good a collection of "media" as I do, so..... Why take it from customers... Seems like the geek squad geeks, ain't very good at accessing the plethora of available media available on the web.
... Point being, if you call "Geek Squad", just think.... That Mormon missionary looking guy, is jerking off to your porn that eve

ning......

Geek Squad

I wonder what the missionaries are jerking off to.

So, I'm on a Rally

I took a week off, as addicted to working out and working my ass off, I took the past week off. Been watching Wimbledon, paying some attention to the garden, which is a shameful representation of its past glory. I did put in some new fruit trees, next spring I'm hoping to put in a couple more, I'm tempted to turn it all into an orchard and vegie garden.... Either that or a grass tennis court.... Ya... it's Wimbledon time. I'm also tempted to pick up a racket. get involved in a whole new way to ruin my knees. Also been thinking about a hair cut...

Point being I went up and did a quickie 2 mile hike with some runs mixed in.... I got a visit from someone in Minneapolis today, makes me wonder if it's Uncle KT or some other unknown UofM person via Doctor pistachio, I'm always resistant to posting comments on their blogs, since their significant other's may get freaky or something. But I still read them both. You know, Woman just blog better than men.... Yep... that's all I have.

the long awaited lone peak hike.

For some reason I'm missing a picture of Lone peak from my house. Let me just say, it's imposing.

I hijacked this one(there is no snow now), and have added the route. I wouldn't use this if you were actually planning this trip. Roughly the canyon on the right is bear creek canyon. you go up the south side of that canyon then cut over to the north side of cherry creek canyon.
this path is referred to as the cherry creek logging road.
and goes up between both canyons.
Once it levels off a bit(after 3500 vertical feet in roughly 3 miles and your running the ridge(this is where this hike is just an ass kicker).
you drop across bear creek canyon,
climb out of bear creak and
then follow that ridge and then you come to some nice pine meadows(green dot in first picture.)
that are shielded from the wind(which include the area where outlaw cabin is. to here this is 4k feet vertical and maybe 6 miles. So, I hit the trail head at 3, assuming I could pull an hour or 2 off the estimated 5 hour hike time. at best I pulled maybe 30 minutes, and got up there about an hour before sunset. with just enough time to make a fire
and settle in for dinner
and go to sleep.
In the morning without coffee, major mistake not packing coffee, I headed up the remaining 2 miles and 1500 vertical feet.
That is the cirque to the summit. makes me tired just to see it.
This is my pack, which was roughly 20 pounds "Pack" weight(includes consumables). sub 20 pound base weight probably 15 or so, but I never weighed it. this is maybe 5-6 pounds heavier than some of my day packs. most the bulk is made up in jackets.
BTW I haven't put on a pack since. ... Wait I did do a quick hike to lake Mary the next day. I had to call the person who wanted to hike and say... "well, let me call you at 10pm and let you know how I feel." Then at 10 I said... "ok, lets plan on it, but there is a slight possibility that I'll call you in the morning and call it off.". but I didn't.
So, sad things happened in Wimbledon today... Point being I've lost interest.
Fortunately
"Le' Tour" starts tomorrow. Of course I've lost track of who the starters are prologue starts at 7am
